TL;DR: Clarivate has released a new demo site at www.clarivatevivo.com which leverages work originally completed as part of the VIVO Scholars effort.
Abstract: Building upon the VIVO Scholar work completed at Texas A&M and Duke, Clarivate has released a new demo site based on VIVO Scholars Discovery and VIVO Angular. The legacy templates for VIVO have a number of drawbacks, including slow performance of very large profiles, reliance on a niche templating technology, and lack of mobile support. We chose to leverage the Angular frontend developed at Texas A&M considering its proven use in production and SEO benefits, in addition to addressing the aforementioned shortfalls. As a Certified VIVO Partner, we plan to offer the new front end as an option to our clients going forward and will encourage increased adoption of the Angular and Discovery technology among existing VIVO implementers. The Scholars stack shows great promise; we hope to see continued interest in the technology and efforts at improving the codebase, including the replacement of a deprecated component (Spring Solr) and development of a real-time update mechanism for the Scholars middleware.
