Abstract: Highlights•This work analyzes the performance of DOA estimation based on the G-MUSIC algorithm for a single source using RLA.•This work studies the scenario when the sensor and snapshot numbers are very large at the same rate.•The general asymptotic regime provides a more accurate description of the practical situation.•This work proves the consistency of DOA estimator and derives the MSE performance in the general asymptotic situation.
