Abstract: This work explores the use of low-cost immersive technologies in enhanced-MOOCs to improve the cognitive learning process and reduce the digital gap. The study focuses on a Latin American organisation known for its scalable and connected MOOC platform. The proposed e-MOOCs utilise a non-linear teaching approach and integrate intelligent technologies to create an accurate virtual environment. This immersive experience turns the learning process into an interactive one, promoting students’ engagement and desire to acquire knowledge. The study also seeks to shed preliminary light on the impact of technology on the adoption of the best pedagogical strategies. Additionally, the combination of immersive technologies with intelligent technologies allows for the creation of a wider range of environments, expanding the possibilities of e-learning. Furthermore, this study will also discuss the importance of low-cost technology in expanding access to education and reducing the digital gap.
