Abstract: Highlights•We present and compare SGEYESUB to 4 algorithms using M/EEG data of 69 participants.•SGEYESUB offers state-of-the-art eye artifact correction performance.•SGEYESUB maximizes preservation of resting brain activity and event-related potentials.•CRD and eyelid artifacts are stationary for EEG and weakly non-stationary for MEG.•SGEYESUB and the experimental paradigm are open source and freely available.
