Abstract: Unattended operations of devices are an important character of the Internet of Things (IoT). It requires IoT devices to achieve intelligent interactions without human intervention, including devices automatically communicating with each other, making decisions and performing appropriate actions. As an effective technology for knowledge representation and storage, knowledge base (KB) provides the abilities of data analysis and logical reasoning, enabling the devices to think autonomously. This paper is an effort to collect and analyze the existing literature on intelligent interactions based on KB. We first classify intelligent interaction methods in IoT from the perspective of KB, and the methods of each category are comprehensively reviewed. Then, these intelligent interaction technologies are analyzed and compared in detail. Finally, open research issues are discussed.
