Abstract: Highlights•We discover a mapping between a spherical bicentric polygon and a planar bicentric polygon based on the gnomonic projection.•We propose a simple way to derive the Fuss relation of a spherical bicentric polygon from that of a planar bicentric polygon.•We design a method to construct a series of spherical bicentric polygons from a planar bicentric polygon.
