Bicycle-based collision prevention system using pedestrian trajectory prediction

Abstract: There were 68,114 bicycle accidents in 2021 in Japan, and these accidents resulted in 309 fatalities and serious injuries of pedestrian and bicycle accidents in Japan in 2021. In this paper, we propose a bicycle-based collision prevention system using pedestrian trajectory prediction. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed system issues warning at more appropriate timing than the conventional simple bicycle-based collision prevention system.
