Abstract: With the acceleration of China's urbanization process, the continuous emergence of long-span bridges will inevitably face difficulties in crossing existing traffic and complex construction environment. The jacking method makes construction sites more controllable and has less of an impact on the surrounding community. It is becoming more popular for application in bridge construction and is hence suitable for jacking construction over high-speed motorways. Steel arch bridges are constructed and assembled in parts using the jacking technique to straddle existing lines with minimal disruption to line traffic. However, phased assembly and jacking modify the beam body stress and system, which affects construction safety control. This paper introduces the construction technology of steel box girder jacking construction and conducts a stress and deformation analysis of the entire process of the walking steel box girder jacking construction using finite element MIDAS/CIVIL software. It is based on the jacking project of a steel box arch bridge of the Beijing maglev line S1. The jacking construction parameters are effectively altered at the same time as a comparison study is conducted in conjunction with the monitoring data. Future bridge jacking projects can use the findings as a benchmark for their own design and construction.
