Abstract: The idea of emergent communication is something that I have been developing a theoretical framework for, from the vantage point of a philosopher of cognitive science, over the past few years. I’ve included here a blurb for the book I am currently writing and an excerpt from a recent paper "The Language Tool" as my submission. I have another paper that develops the language acquisition process under this framework further, but I'm assuming that people will be giving presentations on their ideas and then leading discussion so perhaps this is enough as a statement of what the theme of the session would be.
