A Data Market with Decentralized Repositories

Abstract: In the current era of ever growing data volumes and increased commercialization of data, an interest for data markets is on the rise. When the participants in this markets need access to large amounts of data, as necessary for big data applications, a centralized approach becomes unfeasible. In this paper, we argue for a data market based on decentralized data repositories and outline an implementation approach currently being undertaken by the Data Market Austria project.
