Abstract: Highlights•A fuzzing framework that can automatically search for incorrect configuration parameter values of the smart drone control system.•Developed a quality-diversity enhanced genetic algorithm with a novel flight state metric to guide the mutation process.•Designed a set of new test oracles to detect abnormal flight states of drones in real-time.•Discovered 8 software bugs related to configuration parameters.
