Abstract: Highlights•Plant wearable sensors can monitor phytometric parameters and microclimate conditions.•High biocompatibility provides high-resolution data over rigid conventional sensors.•Wearable sensors can provide non-destructive and real-time data.•Fabrication techniques and working principles of wearable sensors were discussed.•Limitations in current wearable sensors and potential future advancements are highlighted.
