Efficient immediate-access dynamic indexing

Abstract: Highlights•Dynamic indexes allow new documents to be added to a text collection.•In an immediate-access index they are immediately findable via keyword queries.•We develop a new method for constructing immediate-access indexes.•We include a novel compression technique that reduces the memory required.•We further describe an innovative approach to extensible lists.•We present comprehensive experimental results.
