An analytical placement algorithm with looking-ahead routing topology optimization

Abstract: Highlights•This paper presents a novel algorithm to optimize the routing wirelength.•A new wirelength model is proposed to eliminate the HPWL-routing inconsistencies.•In Post-GP, an anchor-based refinement method is introduced for further improvement.•3%, 0.8%, 23.8% improvement in RWL, HPWL, and TNS is achieved on ICCAD2015 benchmarks.•10.6%, 27.3%, 34.4% improvement in RWL, WNS, and TNS is achieved on industrial benchmarks.
