Using Stereo-photogrammetry for Interiors Reconstruction in 3D Game Development

Abstract: This paper proposes a new approach to the reconstruction of building interiors based on stereo-photogrammetry. The proposed technology can be used, among others, for modeling rooms for video games whose action takes place in locations reflecting real interiors. The original, large-scale experiment showed that the proposed approach is economically justified in the case of larger and more complex spaces which are more difficult to model in a traditional way. Also novel approach is proposed to deal with the problem of scanning flat uniform surfaces.
