VIVO's Development Priorities - Introduction and Input

Abstract:

VIVO is used by diverse institutions to address a variety of use cases. As such, we need to ensure that the trajectory of the software’s evolution both embraces collective priorities and minimizes upgrade impacts. Following on from last year’s statement of product direction (https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/VIVO/Product+Direction+for+2019), this session will introduce the revised priorities drafted by the VIVO leadership group in conjunction with the VIVO committers. 

The top-level priorities are grouped into the following categories:
- Lowering barriers to adoption and contribution
- Modernizing architecture and administration
- Improving front-end user experience

The primary objective of the session is to provide enough description of the updated statement of development priorities and direction so that the broader community can respond with feedback during the session and as a follow-on activity.
