Abstract: Highlights•An anchor-based adaptation for vessel dynamics under unseen conditions is proposed.•Adaptation is enhanced with residual refinement over the prediction horizon.•Anchor and adaptation models are implemented using diverse neural architectures.•A 31.49 % FDE improvement is achieved over anchor models trained without wind.
