Facial emotion perception in individuals with clinical high risk for psychosis compared with healthy controls, first-episode psychosis, and in predicting psychosis transition: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Abstract: Highlights•CHR had overall facial emotion perception impairments compared to HC, but less severe than FEP.•CHR who transitioned performed significantly poorer in baseline performance than those did not.•CHR showed specific deficit in perceiving all emotions except surprise compared to HC.•FER significantly performed poorer in perceiving fear expression compared to CHR.•Some misattribution rates could predict transition risk and warranted further study.
