RHEMAT: Robust human ear based multimodal authentication technique

Abstract: Highlights•In this paper, we proposed a technique for 3D ear recognition accompanying their co-registered 2D images.•Texture and geometrical information are combined for first time in 3D ear to derive descriptor.•Discriminatory strength of the proposed technique showed enhanced key-point matching.•Validated on the largest publicly available ear database and has achieved a 1.50% Equal Error Rate (ERR).
