Abstract: Small and medium-sized municipalities have opportunities to improve
efficiency and delivery of services through the use of large
language models. There are concerns about the appropriateness of
this technology, as well as challenges to its implementation, which
must be addressed if these gains are to be realized. A set of
principles and prospects is proposed for the adoption of these
models, along with a brief case study of their appropriateness for
use in a municipal information system.
