Abstract: Highlights•A switched neural observer is established to estimate the unmeasurable states.•Compensating signals is designed to reduce the influence of filter error.•The designed controller only requires the reference signal’s first-order derivative.•The designed fault-tolerant controller can achieve the control objective even if encounter actuator faults.
