Abstract: Andreas Thalhammer performed his doctoral research at the Institute for Applied Informatics and Formal Description Methods of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology under the supervision of Rudi Studer. His thesis was focused on Linked Data entities and their concise presentation to end users in a semantic search context. Further, his research was applied in several national and EU-funded research projects with various academic and industrial partners. With their contributions, Andreas and his colleagues received several awards, including the Ted Nelson Newcomer Award for their work "Entity-centric Data Fusion on the Web" (ACM Hypertext 2017). Since January 2017, Andreas has been working for Roche where he is involved in projects related to semantic terminology management, digital biomarkers, medical imaging, and further data analysis and integration activities.
