Abstract: N-path filters are a practical method for implementing high Q band pass filters in modern CMOS processes without inductors using a combination of mixers and low pass filters. This paper derives optimal practically realizable staircase and 2 level mixer sequences for maximizing the in band SNR and minimizing the out of band harmonics.
